Vampire,Vampire, Vampires!

I am a sucker for vampire movies. If there is a movie out there with vampires chances are; I have already seen it. The meaner the vampires the better. Below are 5 movies that I have seen which I really liked.

1.Blade

It is a trilogy starring Wesley Snipes and for those who are too young to remember here is the plot. The story is about a half vampire half human who takes upon to himself to protect human kind and kill all blood sucking vampires who are wrecking havoc on earth. While very little is known as to how Blade himself became infected, a subplot is constructed around his mother.

The first of the series was released in 1998 under the title Blade quickly followed by Blade TT in 2002 and finally Blade Trinity in 2004 staring Jessica Beal and Ryan Reynolds. Of all the blades, the first and the third one (blade and Blade Trinity) are definitely worth the watch.

2.Underworld

In this vampire themed movie we follow the tribulation of Selene (Kate Beckinsdale) a vampire, who fights alongside her mentor Victor, dangerous werewolves called the Lycans. She unwillingly falls in love with Michael a werewolf that Victor and his acolytes are seeking to kill and she is therefore caught between two worlds that are at war with each other.

There‘s always been a war between both groups but we only actually get to know about the reasons of that war up until the third installment of the series; Underworld rise of the Lycans (which interestingly enough seems to the best of all the Underworlds ).

3.Day Breakers

In the year 2019, a plague has transformed almost every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind.

4. 30 Days Of Nights

Staring Josh and Danny Huston, the movie is about a small group of northern Alaska residents who fall prey to mysterious merciless vampires. With no electricity and in a cold dark winter, they will do everything to stay alive and survive. Many have given a bad review to this movie and it did not bring masses to the theather but strangely enough I did like the movie. I found it to be very entertaining . I would not say the same about the sequel though.

5. Dracula Untold

Facing the ordeal of seeing his own son as well as 1000 young boys of his kingdom turned into turks’ soldiers, Lord Vlad makes a pact with the devil in order to acquire new powers that will help him save his family, but this deal comes at a terrible cost.

This rendition of the well known story of Count Dracula is spectacular and beautifully crafted. The actor Luke Evan camps an amazing Vlad. It might not be historically accurate which might upset a few people, but who goes to see a movie to be educated on history.  Well, I don’t. One word: spectacularrr!!!!
