As the first post ever on this blog I would like to write about the movie I plan to see this this coming Tuesday. “Why Tuesday?” you might ask. It’s because where I live, Tuesday evening is the only time when seeing a movie will only cost you about $7 dollars; the rest of the week, it normally costs around $12. The 5 dollars difference might not be much for some people but these few dollars off the regular price means that I can afford to go to the movie often (at least once a week). Most of the movies showcased on Tuesdays were released 2 or 3 months ago, only a few are current (less than a month).

I am planning to  see the Homesman and here’s why.

Why I am looking forward to seeing this movie?
Well, what gets me excited about this movie is first of all the fact that two of my favorite actors happen to be in it: Hillary Swank and Tommy Lee Jones.

Tommy Lee Jones is a great actor; forget the Men In Black franchise, even if I think that he and Will Smith did a really good job in it. What is even remarkable is the fact that Tommy Lee Jones wrote, directed and produced this movie.

As for Hillary Swank, my understanding is that she is not everyone’s cup of tea. You either like her or dislike her. There is a misconception that she takes herself a bit too seriously which is further from the truth. I do think that she is one actress I can think of who does not rely on her good looks and who isn’t afraid to be “ugly” in a movie. I will write a short review of this movie next week.
